Being in the process of establishing an R&D Centre for textile machinery, the Association has been constantly interacting with the Government, the IIT, Mumbai, the Bureau of Indian Standards, various Textile Research Associations etc. to understand the technical problems of the domestic Textile Industry in upgrading their products through the machinery and equipment supplied by the Indian Textile Machinery Industry.

Export Promotion :
To assist in the endeavour of the TMI to integrate globally, the TMMA (I) has drawn up a long term Export Plan with a view to achieving an export target of Rs.7,500/- to Rs.8,000/- million (US $ 175 million) and persistent efforts are being made in implementing the ambitious plan.

Forthcoming Events and Meetings :
The India ITME Society would be organising 8th India-ITME in December 2008. Participants from both domestic as well as international organisations would be participating in this international Exhibition.
- Organising Seminars and Workshops during the period are planned.
- Interactive meetings are being fixed with Government officials to discuss fiscal and trade policies.
