Aims and Objectives :

The principal aims and objectives of the Association are -

a) To help and protect the trade, commerce and industries of India and in particular trade, commerce and industries connected with the Textile Machinery Manufacturing Industry.

b) To organise, establish and start centres for research in co-operation or in association with bodies with similar objectives and/or under the auspices of the Association for the benefit of the Textile Machinery Manufacturers.

c) To promote and advance commercial and technical education and such study of different branches of arts and science as may tend to develop, commerce and industry in India and in particular textile machinery and allied industries of the country.

d) To conduct research in pure and applied science and to lay down suitable specifications for the manufacture and maintenance of finished products, wherever necessary either directly or in consultation and co-operation with other Government or public bodies and to start laboratories and other Technical Research Institutes for the said purpose.

e) To encourage, assist and extend knowledge and information connected with trade, commerce and industries of India in general and textile machinery industry in particular by arrangement of lectures, discussions or correspondence, by holding conferences, by establishing libraries, by publication of newspapers, periodicals or journals, books, maps or any other kind of literature or by foundation and endowment of professorship or scholarship or by encouraging research work or otherwise.

f) To promote the standardization of textile machinery.

Corporate Testimonials – On the Government Front :
The TMMA has been continuously in touch with the concerned Government departments especially its sponsoring authority viz. The Office of Textile Commissioner (Textile Machinery Branch), the Ministries concerned viz. Department of Heavy Industries, (Ministry of Heavy Industry and Public Enterprises), Ministry of Textiles, Ministry of Finance and Department of Science and Technology to apprise the industry’s achievements and resolve its problems.

Facilities to the Industries :
Besides offering various services to its constituents, the TMMA (I) has built up an Information Bank on the production and exports, import of textile machinery, various types of duties and taxes applicable on inputs and finished products and the data is made available to its members and the Government officials concerned. In addition, the TMMA (I) has a library in which various magazines and publications on textile & textile machinery - both locally and internationally reputed - for reference by its members and the visitors to the Association’s office.

The TMMA (I) being member of various apex bodies viz. Confederation of Indian Industry, Indian Merchants’ Chamber, as well as members of representative export promotion councils viz. Engineering Export Promotion Council and Federation of Indian Export Organisation derives the various services rendered by them and disseminate the relative information/ data among its constituents.
